One of those smart drivers who is takes to Cup racing like a duck to water, the longer races suit Hamlin's style. Obviously Denny is a good communicator for one so young, and he knows when to bide his time and when to get aggressive: something it takes a lot of drivers years to learn. Seems like a future champ.
Boy Wonder reminds me a lot of a young Jeff Gordon. He is amazingly talented and seems like he can win on any given day. His story is rags to riches, making his rise to the top a thrill to witness. As a team their miscues on pit road have tripped up their chances for more wins, but I think he's done with his bad luck. Look for Denny to consistently post top tens and challenge for the title.
Denny laughs in the face of the so-called “Sophomore Slump” using 2007 to prove that 2006 was no fluke. He seems to have a maturity about him that some of the other young guys lack. Maybe that comes from being one race away from running out of money before he made it to Cup. I don't think he'll be in danger of running out of money again any time soon.
